There is no single or unique registry for breast cancer at the state level, but it is estimated that each year about 1600 women get breast cancer, out of which 800 are in the Federation BH. Metastatic tumors range from 300-350.
Alarming is the fact that only about 1000 women visit their doctor, which shows that around 30% of women in B&H never visit the doctor.
The percentage of healing depends on the stages of illness, which once again emphasizes the importance of early detection.
What plays an important role is family history of illnesses (if someone in the family got breast cancer), inspections (examinations and self examinations), and all other risk factors such as (smoking, stress)
Overview of mammogram screening is recommended once every 2 years for all women those are over 40 years of age.
If cancer is detected at an early stage, the percentage of healing is 95%, as it expands, the average percentages fall to around 20%.
